MS Word Accessibility and Section 508 Best Practices

There will be a 30 minute break for lunch and two 10-minute breaks in the morning and afternoon periods.

Audience

This course is intended for Microsoft Word users who want to create accessible or Section 508 compliant documents in Word. No prior knowledge of accessibility or section 508 is required.

Description

The instructor will provide an overview of common MS Word accessibility-related issues, guidelines and best practices aimed at creating more accessible documents.

The instructor will also provide an overview of the PDF Accessibility Wizard (PAW) author-level tool. PAW assists in making Word documents accessible and generates accessible PDF documents.

The course includes a hands-on portion where the trainees will analyze a number of Word documents and apply best practices to make them accessible.

The accessibility guidelines and best practices course will cover the following topics.
