Texas DARS selects CommonLook Section 508 for Adobe® Acrobat®
March 2, 2007
NetCentric Technologies, a world leading provider of Section 508, W3C and Accessible
Electronic Information Technology (AEIT) Solutions, today announced that it has been
awarded a purchase order from the Texas Department of Assistive & Rehabilitative Services
(DARS) for the supply of the CommonLook Section 508 for Adobe® Acrobat® product to
the Department.
DARS administers programs that ensure Texas is a state where people with disabilities, and
children who have developmental delays, enjoy the same opportunities as other Texans to live
independent and productive lives.
"DARS is the leader in promoting accessibility in the State of Texas and is widely viewed as
a national leader in providing services to people with disabilities. We are pleased that
they have selected our CommonLook technology for PDF accessibility to ensure their
documents are accessible and section 508 compliant" Said Andrew Oestreich, NetCentric's
Vice President of Business Development. "The internet has the potential of leveling
the playing field when it comes to people with disabilities being able to access
electronic information. The key is for governments at all levels and corporations to
ensure their documents meet Section 508 standards at a minimum. Our unique solution
helps them get there faster and at less cost."
Other state agencies working with NetCentric include Texas Parks and Wildlife and Texas
Department of Criminal Justice amongst others.
